The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has been hit with a shock after a daughter of one of their communicators was kidnapped.

Three-year old Samuella Tinewaa Takyi, who resides at Esereso, near Kumasi, was kidnapped by a certain unknown man around 6:30pm on Sunday.

The innocent girl is the daughter of Mr. Samuel Takyi, popularly known as ‘Obibini Takyi’, a top communicator of the NPP in the Ashanti Region.

The kidnapper, whose identity is still unknown, was said to have lured the little girl, who is fair in complexion, with toffee.

The unpleasant incident is said to have come as a great shock to the entire NPP fraternity in the region, who have joined in the search for the little girl.

What influenced the kidnapper to illegally take away the daughter of the NPP communicator is still a mystery, barely 24 hours after the incident.

Speaking with the DAILY GUIDE, Obibini Takyi, who sounded very worried, disclosed that a one-week funeral celebration was held at Esereso on Sunday and the event, according to him, naturally attracted a lot of mourners from other communities in Kumasi.

He said information reaching him indicated that a certain man was seen distributing toffees to children at the funeral grounds and in the course of distributing the toffees to the children, the man, reportedly, took Samuella Tinewaa Takyi away, without being noticed.

According to him, his daughter, who is also known as ‘Maame Tinewaa, was nowhere to be found after the celebration had come to a close.

“I was told that the strange man, who distributed toffees to the children took her away, without anybody suspecting foul play”, he lamented.

Obibini Takyi said the case had been reported to the police, adding that his family and loved ones, notably NPP members, have joined in the search.

He therefore appealed to anybody who has information about the whereabouts of his daughter to quickly report to the nearest police station.
