Disgruntled members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region are protesting over a decision not to open nomination for incumbent Female MPs to be contested in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

According to the party members, the decision taken by the party leadership is against the constitution of the party and democratic processes.

Addressing a news conference Tuesday, spokesperson for the Asante Juaben Concerned NPP threatened to vote against the party if incumbent MP AMA Pomaa Boateng is allowed to contest the primaries unopposed.

At Ablekuma West in Accra, a parliamentary hopeful, Albert Kan-Dapaah junior and his team have been trying to purchase a nomination form since Friday but to no avail.

The aspirant says the constituency executives keep hiding away anytime is scheduled to pick forms.

He believes MP for the ara Ursula Owusu Ekuful is behind the frustration.

The governing party goes to the polls in areas where they have incumbent MPs to elect candidates for the December polls.
