Tension appears to be engulfing the Ablekuma West Constituency ahead of tomorrow’s parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party in the constituency.

The National Executive Committee of the party approved the impending primaries following a resolution of a protracted legal battle over the exercise last year. Supporters of former constituency chairman Theophillus Tetteh took the party to court over the eligibility of some voters whose names were on the party album for the election.

The former chairman however has since withdrawn from the race in disagreement with the NEC’s decision to admit two different registers in the exercise.

The race is now between incumbent Ursula Owusu Ekuful and Roni Kwesi Nicol.

Speaking to Starr News, Mrs Owusu Ekuful said she is confident of retaining the seat due to the development she has brought to the constituency under her tenure.

But in reaction, Mr. Kwesi Nicole said he is certain the people of Ablekuma West will vote for a change come Saturday.

Meanwhile, Starr News understands the constituency executives are yet to receive an official communication from the party headquarters regarding tomorrow’s exercise.
