A former Finance Minister, Kwame Peprah has dismissed the overly ambitious and vote grabbing promise by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the effect that they would create a factory in every district and give every constituency 1 million dollars for development purposes.

He argued that it is not possible for the NPP to extend government finances to constituency by constituency because the pledge is not backed by law. Saying, there is no such structure in the constituencies for such transactions.

He indicated that the constituencies are made up of party executives, and has no district chief constituency officer to operate such policy.

Mr. Kwame Peprah who joined the Chief of Staff's campaign trail in Kumasi, in the Ashanti region was addressing professionals at an interaction session dubbed "thinking together to transform mother Ghana" as part of Mr. Julius Debrahs campaign tour of the area to shore up votes for President Mahama.

He cautioned Ghanaians to be wary of such a promise or else when they succeed and you question them where the money is they would tell you "we are now going to make a law to create constituency administration system before the money could be released."

He urged the enlightened participants to question the NPP on how they intend to implement the promise of one district, one factory and one million dollars for each constituency.

He queried , if it were possible , why wouldn't the NDC under the capable leadership of President Mahama pursue it to secure the needed votes.

"If you are not in government or haven't been a finance minister you certainly wouldn't know what is happening. People also don't know what is happening thus they tend to believe the deception and outright lies of the NPP," Mr. Peprah stated.

He charged the professionals which included drivers, bankers, business owners among others to question the NPP on how they are going to implement such a policy and where the funding will be coming from in order to set the records straight.

He proudly stated laced with confidence that " the NDC has costed every assurance in the manifesto, we know where the money is going to come from. The NPP should also tell us where their monies would be coming from."

Mr. Kwame Peprah who held many portfolios under the then President Rawlings administration said people should not clamour for change into thinking they will get reprieve under the NPP, stating categorically that the NPP under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has nothing better to offer the good people of Ghana.

"The NDC under President Mahama has costed all the pledges in our manifesto and have no worries where funding will come from. The NPP should also tell Ghanaians the cost and how they would implement such huge promises," he stated.

He honestly told the gathering that the NDC won't lie it's way to power. President Mahama and his government shall always be honest and truthful to the people and state in no ambiguous terms how it would be carried out.

Leading members of the NDC Ambassador Ohene Agyekum, madam Faustina Nelson, Professor Ahwoi, Kwame Peprah, Kofi Totobi Kwakye are part of the Chief of Staff's campaign.

The rest are, Presidential Staffers Emelia Arthur and Mawusi Lorlornyo Dzirasa, Hon. Adu Adare, the National Communications officer of the NDC Solomon Nkansah, Fred Agbenyo, Edudzi Tamekloe, Fred Agbenyo among others.
