The Assin South Constituency National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Director, Mr Asiedu Mucha believes promises made by the President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the build up to the December 7 polls were attractive and appealing to every single voter in the country.
He observed that what the NDC put out in its campaign manifesto were contents one found exceptionally difficult to explain to the grassroots and as result earned the party the humiliating defeat at the polls.
According to him, there was no doubt Nana Addo deserved a win considering the number of policies and programmes he pledged to the Ghanaian voters who are also the kingmakers.
“This was a man who promised to restore nursing and teacher training allowances, improved National Health Insurance Scheme which is almost collapsing, one village one dam, one million dollars for every constituency and a host of others. If I am a voter it is obvious I will be lured by these promises because they are fantastic, practicable and appealing”, he said.
Asiedu Mucha is optimistic the NDC can recapture power in 2020 if its leadership properly put things together and work towards bringing all aggrieved members on the table to work in the interest of the party rather than personal interest.
