NPP's victory in C/R means confidence in govt- constituency chairmen

Cape Coast, Jan 21, GNA-The association of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency chairmen in the Central Region, on Friday declared that the party's "overwhelming annexation" of almost all the parliamentary seats in the region, was a clear manifestation of the confidence the people in the Region had in the government.

According to the chairmen, the December elections, illustrated to the world, that the region "voted enormously on issues", since its development, had largely been neglected by past governments.

The chairmen, stated these, in a congratulatory message issued and signed on their behalf, by Mr Lawrence Sarbah, Cape Coast constituency chairman and secretary to the association, at Cape Coast.

The message, which extended "its warmest congratulations to the President and Vice -President, for the party's re-election, therefore, expressed the hope that having embraced 'chapter one' of the positive change, 'chapter two', would ensure the accelerated development of the region, towards poverty reduction.

It further commended the President for the re-appointment of Professor Dominic Fobih, Mr Isaac Edumadze and Ms Christine Churcher, all members of parliament in the region, as ministers of state designate.

The chairmen, in this regard, pledged to work hard to ensure that the party wins all the 19 parliamentary seats in the 2008 elections, as well as of their determination, to ensure the maintenance of peace and unity among the rank and file of the party's membership in the region.
