Accra, March 28, GNA - The Effutu Constituency Executive of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sacked 31 members for acts that brought the party into public disrepute and ridicule during Elections 2004.

A statement signed by Mr Enoch Annan, Constituency Chairman and made available to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said two members have also been suspended for one year.

It said the dismissed members organised demonstrations against some decisions of the party, which were of paramount interest and also adopted violence and intimidation as a weapon to woo support for their actions from NPP loyalists.

The dissidents also falsified official documents with the intent to create disaffection towards the party in the constituency and undermine the 2004 campaign agenda.

The affected members were: Mr Theophilus Kojo Halm, Ms Agnes B. Mensah, Ms Josephine Mills-Arthur, Mr Alex Afenyo Markin, Mr Albert Kittoe, Mr Kwamena Baidoo, Mr J. K. Akyeampong, Mr John Duker, Ms Patricia Tetteh, Mr Eric Acquah, Mr Samuel Nana Asante, Mr Josiah Kittoe, Mr Richard Entsiwah, Mr Isaac Tetteh, Mr Benjamin Ehuntam and Mr Kofi Kakra.

The rest were: Mr K. Gyankuimah, Ms Adjoa G. Ghartey, Mr Peter A. Asibu, Mr Attah Pinyin Ensiamah, Masdona Ampah, Mr Alfred Bondzie, Nana Essel, Mr Albert K. Snaful, Mr Kobina Yamoah, Mr Kwesi Agyei, Mr Kweku Semabay, Mr S. N. Rockson, Mr Kofi Adisu, Mr Kweku Ghartey and Mr Ebenezer Nelson Bortie.
