“To some extent, it's misconduct, and it's not something we're going to let go," he said, according to a report by 3news on May 21, 2026.

"We are filing a petition to the Chief Justice for Justice Yenuban Kunsong to be removed from the case of the Republic vs Abronye because we believe he has taken a stand in the case and he cannot be a judge in his own case. Therefore, justice will be well served when the case is handed over to someone else," he told journalists after Abronye was granted bail.

The NPP Bono Regional Chairman has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace and publication of false news.

According to the prosecution, Abronye made derogatory remarks about a judge and attempted to incite the public against the court.

The High Court on Thursday, May 21, granted the NPP Bono Regional Chairman a GH¢100,000 bail with two sureties to be justified after his lawyers prayed for the same for him.
