The outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP), Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has predicted doom for his party ahead of the 2020 general election.

According to the NPP man, the party will suffer a humiliating defeat in the 2020 general election if the current scheming and undermining of personalities who contributed to the party's success in the 2016 election continue to persist.

The Assin central MP, for some time now seems to be at war with his own party.

Speaking in a media interview recently, Kennedy Agyapong disclosed that, though the NPP is in power it almost seems to him as if the opposition NDC still runs affairs as some big shots of the party including him have been sidelined.

This he says if the party fails to sit up and prosecute past corrupt government official, Ghanaians will surely vote out the NPP out of power 2020.

“We must prosecute all the corrupt officials under the Mahama government. Ghanaians have confidence in us but if we do not take care and prosecute them, we will go into opposition. I am not a minister so I am not afraid to be fired for speaking my mind”, he insisted.

The lawmaker, in his submission, lamented that “Where was all these people when we were suffering from financing the victory of the party, they are just interested in what will go into their pockets thus why they’re undermining people like us.

He also added that people who did not contribute a dime to the party’s victory are now occupying key positions; a move he considers very annoyingly.

“These same people are leading some NDC functionaries, taking their monies and making flimsy promises to them. I will always speak because I speak the truth. If they adhere to my good counsel, we will go forward but if they fail we are bound to fail collectively 2020,” said.
