NPP will win 175 parliamentary seats in 2020 - Abronye DC

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, who is popularly known as Abronye DC has expressed strong optimism that the party will win 175 seats out of the 275 seats in 2020.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the party is currently occupying 169 seats in parliament but preparing to occupy 175 seats come 2020.

He claims the unprecedented achievements by President Nana Akufo-Addo will make him win the 2020 presidential seat by a landslide victory just like in 2016.

Abronye DC hailed President Akufo-Addo for chalking more successes than former President John Mahama.

In outlining some of the achievements of the current NPP, he said, under Nana Addo, 54,000 nurses have been employed already, 45,000 teaching and non teaching staff have also been employed, 22,000 pollinators have been recruited to nationwide to fumigate cocoa farms, Government has also obtained clearance to employ another 80,000 nurses which include both private and public sector nurses. It is important to note that, under the NDC regime they never employed private nurses not to even talk about public sector nurses during his presidential tenure.’’

According to him, dumsor is now a thing of the historic annals, 65% of contractors have also been paid whereas the forestry commission has also employed over 50, 000 Ghanaian youth, Planting for Export and Rural Development is also working and has created massive employment.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was declared Ghana’s 5th President of the Fourth Republic after an impressive performance in the 2016 presidential poll.

The three-time lucky NPP leader polled 5,716,026 to beat former President John Mahama who had 4,713, 277 Electoral Commission Chairperson, Charlotte Osei announced Friday evening.

According to EC statistics, Nana Akufo-Addo recorded 53.85% of the total votes cast as against 44.40 by President Mahama.

The declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as the winner of the election brings to an end the era of the ‘John’ presidency, which saw John Rawlings, John Kufuor, John Mills, and John Mahama all taking their turn as president from 1992 to 2016.
