NPP wins Offinso-South by-election

The New Patriotic Party has retained the Offinso-South parliamentary seat, after winning the by-election on Tuesday.

The party’s candidate, Dr. Owusu Achaw Duah won the poll with a margin of more than 10,000. He polled 20,763 votes, representing about 65 percent of the valid votes his cast.

His nearest rival, the NDC’s Barbara Asamoah won 10,656 votes, representing about 33.6 percent of the votes.

Turnout was about 70%.
