The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffour Junior, popularly known as Abronye DC, has challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to boldly list their achievements and contributions in the Ashanti Region under the Fourth Republic.
The politician stated that the NDC has not developed or contributed to any household or the overall development of the Ashanti Region during its 16 years in power, especially when compared to the achievements of the ruling NPP in the region.
Speaking on Hello FM on September 21, 2024, he questioned the NDC saying “Let me ask Asanteman this question that since attaining the fourth republic, between the two dominant political parties (NDC and NPP) which NDC first came to power, they should name one policy by the NDC that every household has benefited from after 32 years in the Fourth Republic?” he queried.
According to Abronye DC, the NPP has significantly contributed to the livelihoods of citizens by introducing and implementing the Free SHS social intervention policy, whose success is evident for all to see.
Responding to assertions that the ballot position can influence the NPP’s success in the upcoming December polls, Abronye DC dismissed such opinions, stating that the legacy of the ruling government after eight years in power will be the sole determinant for the electorate when casting their ballots.
He expressed optimism that the NPP, led by Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Opoku Prempeh, will emerge victorious.
“Every Ghanaian voter going to cast their ballot is looking at the legacies of the two political parties,” he added.
With just 74 days until the election, political parties are rigorously campaigning to secure victory in the 2024 general elections in December.
