Offinso (Ash), Oct 14, GNA - The names of 39 people, who registered at the Kokote Local Authority JSS 'A' Exhibition Centres at Offinso are missing from the Voters' Register.

Mr Albert Kwame Antwi-Berko, the Exhibition Officer, told the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday that the names and pictures of the remaining 941 registered voters had appeared in the register.

He said none of the affected persons had visited the exhibition centre to check on their names and pictures to enable the Electoral Commission (EC) to promptly correct the problem.

Mr Antwi-Berko said 105 out of the 980 registered voters at the polling station had checked their names at the time of GNA's visit. He attributed the low patronage to insufficient publicity and suggested to the EC to step up public education on the exercise.

At the Kokote Methodist Primary School Exhibition Centre, Mr P.H. Aduhene, Exhibition Officer, said 200 registered voters out of the 895 had checked their names by the close of work on Wednesday. Mr Aduhene said the exercise had been smooth and free from any incident.
