The Namong Senior High Technical School in the Offinso Municipality has appealed for support towards the completion of a two-storey boys’ dormitory.
Mr. Victor Owusu-Ansah, the Headmaster, said this would help to create space for the admission of more students in the next academic year.
He was speaking at a meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to discuss ways of creating the right conditions for effective academic work.
Mr. Owusu-Ansah also drew attention to the need to speed up construction works on the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) assisted three-storey classroom block.
He invited the parents to work together with the school to help check aberrant behavior among the students saying, they should pay regular visits to the school and establish effective channels of communication with the teachers to enable them to closely follow how their wards were faring.
Mr. Owusu-Ansah complained about the situation where many of the students had not been registered with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and said that was saddling the school with huge financial burden.
The School Prefect, Samuel Ayebi, pleaded with the PTA to help provide the school with a bus.**
