The managing editor of the Insight Newspaper,Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has grimly rebuked the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) for using the IEA platform as a medium, to mislead the general public who were glued to both their television and radio set to know more about Ghana’s relationship with its neighboring countries, especially La Côte d’Ivoire.

Kwesi Pratt bleakly nicked Nana Akufo-Addo’s patriotic credentials by stating that he was "unpatriotic" considering the fact that La Côte d’Ivoire was fighting Ghana over the ownership of the Jubilee Oil Field.

The managing editor noted that when the issue of foreign policy came up for discussion, Nana Akufo-Addo reduced the topic to Ghana’s relation with La Côte d’Ivoire and made barefaced errors.

Addressing the matter on Radio Gold, Mr. Pratt alleged that Nana Akufo-Addo had mistaken a French company’s report on Ghana’s relationship with La Côte d’Ivoire, for that of a UN report and was using it to develop his points.

"Any patriotic Ghanaian, wanting to comment on relationship between Ghana and La Côte d’Ivoire, ought to have made reference to that...and ought to have supported the Ghana position that the Jubilee Oil Field is not for La Côte d’Ivoire", he said.

He argued that it was really unfortunate for prejudicial statements, to fall out of the lips of Nana Akufo-Addo when he commented on the Alfred Agbesi Woyome case. Considering what the constitution proffers on separation of powers, Mr. Pratt established that it was wrong for an official to intervene in matters which were already before court.

"I was very shocked about that having regard to the fact that when Kennedy Ayapong’s matter came up, he refused to comment flatly, claiming that the matter was before court; the same principle should have applied to the judgment debt case...but Nana Akufo-Addo threw caution to the wind and continuously attacked Woyome and made statements which suggested that Woyome was already guilty. I found that most unfortunate", he said.

According to Kwesi Pratt, though the president made efforts to back his facts with trustworthy figures, Nana Akufo-Addo intentionally refused to accept it and failed to provide alternatives to support his claims.
