The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is calling on Ghanaians especially the clergy to pray for him to rule well as he takes over the presidency for another four years.

He further requested for prayers for his wife Rebecca Akufo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia.

President Nana Addo made this known during an Interdenominational Thanksgiving service organized by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional council for him at the forecourt of Okyehene’s palace at Kibi on sunday, a day after his swearing- in as the President of Ghana.

He prayed to God to grant him wisdom, strength, courage and a good heart to be a good leader, under whose tenure Ghanaians will see tremendous improvement in their lives.

“If you pray for me, don’t forget Dr Mahamudu Bawumia a young man on whose shoulders lay huge responsibility. Ghanaians should remember him in their prayers. Our wives also need prayers, Lady Samira, who was a revelation in the 2016 campaign…she’s such a powerful lady in her speech. Her comments was always a bother to ex-President John Mahama more than anyone else.

God should protect her and help her to help her husband Mahamudu. The beautiful woman the people of Osu have given me, Rebecca, must also be prayed for, she likes shouting on me too much. Do this…do that, sit here etc. But I realized that she did that with a good heart as that was for my own good. God bless her and also tell her to take her time when she’s dealing with me,” he stated.

Nana Addo was sworn-in on December 7, 2017 at the Independence Square.
