It was an ‘all emotive’ speech at the NPP’s Extraordinary Delegate’s Congress when the president Akufo-Addo recollected with so much nostalgia memories of his late mother.

The president paused off his speech at the Heroes Park in Kumasi, to remember what he explained the significant role his mother played in his upbringing adding that the day of the congress marked his mother’s birthday.

In a rather extensive speech about his ‘’dear’’ mother the president stated;

"Today is a sacred day in my life. It is my mother, Yeboah Akua’s birthday so I’m sure it is going to be a happy and lucky day for us all’’.

In 1970, Adeline Akua Akufo-Addo became the first lady when her husband, Edward Akufo-Addo was president of Ghana.

She was later taken ill and passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2004, at the age of 87.
