The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice of Ghana, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akuffo-Addo will pay a week’s visit to Canada to participate in activities marking Ghana’s 45th Independence Anniversary Celebrations with the Ghanaian Community in Montreal, Quebec. The visit is at the invitation of the Network for Patriotism & Progress (NPP Montreal-Canada Chapter) and Ghana House 2000 Inc, the Umbrella Organization for Ghanaian Community Associations in Montreal. He is expected to arrive in Montreal on Wednesday March 6, 2002 and return on Tuesday March 12, 2002.
Among a tight schedule of activities planned for the Attorney General will be a Meeting with members of the local Chapter of the NPP, series of Ministerial Meetings with a number of Ministers and Members of Parliament in Ottawa, and a speech to the Black Students Network and Law Students Association of McGill University, Montreal at the Student Union Building, Schatner Hall on McTavish Street.
He will deliver the KeyNote speech at the Independence Rally in Montreal in the evening of Saturday March 9, 2002. A number of high-ranking Municipal, Provincial and Federal Government Officials have been invited to the event.
Nana Akuffo-Addo will meet the Ghanaian Community of Montreal in an interactive Town Hall Meeting on Sunday Afternoon March 10 and hold discussions with the North American Executive of the NPP.
