Nana Akufo-Addo’s Mercenaries Are In Town

In anticipation of losing the 2012 elections, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has invited “Wounded Lion”, a militant group from Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast, to Ghana for strategic plot to cause mayhem before, during and after the 2012 general elections. They held their first meeting at Cottage Hotel in Bubuashie, in the Okaikoi South Constituency in Accra last Sunday. It was addressed by Nana Akufo-Addo, and it was basically to cause mayhem in the 2012 general elections.

The Sunday meeting begun around dusk, and ended in the wee hours of Monday. The “Wounded Lion” is made up of mainly the remnants of Guillaume Soro’s Former New Forces rebel group that took up arms against former President Gbagbo of Ivory Coast. Intelligence information reaching _The True Statesman_ indicates that some frustrated warlords from Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso have been brought into the country for a secret meeting which took place at Bubiashie, a suburb of Accra.

The True Statesman has learned that the meeting was centered mainly on how the mercenaries would help cause confusion during the coming election which the NPP is sure of loosing. Nana Akufo-Addo mentioned, among other things at the meeting, that a power-sharing government with the NDC may be formed if they work hard.

It is the phase one of executing his “all-die-be die” election agenda.

The NPP anticipates that if it succeeds in causing commotion in the country during and after the election, the NDC will be forced to accept the power-sharing idea.

It has also been confirmed to _The True Statesman_ that the NPP leadership is recruiting some local thugs from parts of the country to join the already known NPP Militant group christened “The Bamba boys”. The Ghana Police Service is not treating the matter lightly. Sources within the police headquarters in Accra have hinted _The True Statesman_ that they are on top of the issue, and are monitoring events with “eagle eyes”.

In an exclusive interview with The True Statesman, an intelligence officer revealed that the intelligence service is monitoring the activities of all groups, and that it is the duty of the security agencies to maintain the peace of the country at all time. “If Nana Akufo-Addo, or any politician for that matter, think that they can undermine the security of the country, they must re-write their script”, the intelligence officer said.

The Intelligence sources further revealed that “the security agencies are well prepared for any unforeseen eventuality in 2012, and will handle every issue, one at a time, and we will maintain the peace before, during, and after the 2012 elections.”

It will be recalled that Nana Akufo-Addo declared “all-die-be-die” war cry ahead of the 2012 general elections, implying that the NPP will use all means possible to win power. He had previously warned that if the results of this year’s election do not favour him and the NPP, the party would ensure

that Ghana suffers violence.

The “all-die-be-die” rant reduced Nana Akufo- Addo from a viable alternative to the Mills-led government to a desperate loser seeking to appeal to the worse instinct of Ghanaians. It is, therefore, no wonder that Nana Akufo- Addo has turned to Ivorian and Burkinabe militants for action.
