Nana Ato Arthur advises students to have vision

Agona Nsaba, (C/R), Aug 19, GNA - The Deputy Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, has called on students to have a vision so that they not suffer in future.

He stated that students who had gained admission into less endowed secondary schools should not count themselves out and think that they had gone to "the wrong places" but should work hard and be disciplined. The Deputy Minister stressed that students attending Apam, Nsaba, Kwanyako, Nyakrom and Obrachire Secondary Schools were as equally good as those attending Saint Augustine, Wesley Girls High, Achimota and Mfantsepim Secondary Schools.

Nana Arthur made the observation when he addressed the First Anniversary and Leadership Congress of the Central Regional Students Representative Councils at Agona Nsaba.

In all 157 students from 38 Secondary Schools attended the four-day congress under the theme, "Ensuring high academic excellence, the role of students".

Nana Arthur who was accompanied by Mr Ben Mensah, Agona District Chief Executive (DCE), said students could excel wherever they attended school and urged them to study hard to chalk success in life. He challenged the students to take their studies seriously to become good leaders in future, adding that, those of them who had it "cool chop" should not let the opportunity slip through their fingers. Nana Arthur urged the students to discard the notion that drugs could help them to study to achieve academic success, adding that, it would rather end them in unpleasant situations.

He said the government was doing everything possible to assist schools especially second cycle ones, saying that, eight of the schools would get buses to ease their transport problems to enhance effective teaching and learning.
