Leading domestically sourced fresh milk brand, Nana Milk, has been adjudged Indigenous Dairy Brand of the Year at the just-ended 2024 edition of the FMCG summit and awards event.

Nana Milk was given recognition for its trailblazing achievement of establishing a robust and sustainable system of procuring milk from local dairy farmers in the country as raw material for its dairy products.

Speaking in a media interview after the event, the Head of Marketing & Business Development for Nature Farms (producers of Nana Milk), Mr Gideon Kodo, expressed his excitement about awards.

“As a young and growing brand that is trying to change the narrative of an import-dependent dairy market, we are really delighted to be given this recognition, our products are locally made here in Ghana with the raw milk domestically sourced from Ghanaian dairy farmers, I am happy to say that this award is a celebration of the many possibilities and potentials we have as a country.

"Nana Milk has established local Milk Collections Centres, the first of its kind and we are proud to say that this is economically empowering some hundreds of small-scale dairy farmers through the provision of competitive pricing and a reliable market for their produce,” he said.

He also added that the operations of these initial MCCs have been acknowledged by the farmers as a game-changer since they previously had to travel long distances to sell their milk, exposing their produce to contamination and post-harvest losses.

Mr. Kodo further called on Ghanaians and foreign nationals, to patronize the fresh and nutritious products from the Nana Milk brand which include the Full Cream Milk, Plain Yoghurt, Paneer/Wagashi, and Clarified Butter(Ghee) which is gaining recognition as a healthier replacement of traditional cooking oil. He also thanked the organizers of the event and reaffirmed the commitment by the business to grow the local dairy market.

The National FMCG Summit is a high-level fast-moving consumer goods conference and awards event that brings together Key stakeholders, thought leaders and decision-makers from different sectors of the FMCG industry to discuss and address pressing issues, trends, and opportunities to explore. The event climaxed with an award ceremony for deserving recipients.

This year’s event was held at the La Palm Royale Beach hotels also with several other awards going to personalities and brands from industry giants like Coca-Cola, Diageo (Guinness Ghana), Unilever and Blow-Chem Industries to name a few.
