The Running Mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections and former Minister for Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has urged party members to embrace unity and collective responsibility as the party reorganises after its electoral defeat.

Speaking at a meeting with constituency organisers, women’s organisers, youth organisers, NASARA coordinators, and their deputies in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh — popularly known as Napo — said the NPP must accept its shortcomings as a collective rather than blame individuals for the party’s loss.

He noted that genuine progress will only come when the party moves beyond finger-pointing and focuses on rebuilding together. According to him, no single flagbearer can succeed without the backing of a united front.

Dr Opoku Prempeh reminded party members that the NPP’s strength lies in its togetherness and enduring commitment to the principles of Development in Freedom. He therefore called on all members to rally behind the party symbol — the elephant — and work diligently for the good of both the NPP and Ghana.

The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots structures and renew the spirit of unity and purpose within the party as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
