Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has described this year as a year of hope for the people of Ghana adding that nation building requires the support and contribution of all through prayers.
He said there is the need for Ghanaians to keep on praying for the nation in order to help in the multiple goals of national development including the economic, social, political, cultural,religious and security interests among others.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur said this on Friday when he joined the re-opening of the Goka Church of Pentecost Prayer Camp in Jaman North District in the Brong Ahafo region.
The ceremony was attended by over thousands of members from Ghana and neighboring countries.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur lauded the church for showing love to the government and Ghanaians over the years and reminded the group of its responsibility of preaching morality so as to breed good leaders for national development.
"Continue to intercede for the nation for peace and unity because the Grace of God is vital for the progress of every nation," he said.
He commended the contribution of the members of the fellowship, the late Apostle Sarah who founded the church and the General Overseer of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Opoku Nyinah for his continues prayers.
He also urged the youth to emulate the good examples of Christian business leaders.
Mr. Ammissah-Arthur said the nation needed to continue trusting in God who changes the fortunes of nations and individuals, adding that God has been good to Ghana, therefore,the need for us to continue praying.
Suma Manhene on his part thanked the government for the good works that they are doing for mother Ghana and the district .
He used the occasion to appeal to government to help them in the construction of their road network which is in a bad state and also the upgrading of their health centre together with the construction of a girls dormitory for the Goka Senior High School.
On behalf of Government, Vice President Kwesi Amissah–Arthur Presented GHC10.0000, 200 bags of cement and one ton of iron rods for the construction of a church Project for the Goka Prayer Camp.
The Vice President was accompanied by Hon Eric Opoku, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Asiedu Nketia the General Secretary of the NDC and a host of dignitaries
