National Security refutes ‘New Crusading GUIDE’ story

...And Says Ex-BNI Director Had Nothing To with Car Seizure!

A press release issued by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) signed by Colonel EWK Nibo(rtd) has categorically denied a story put out by The New Crusading GUIDE last Monday, 15th January 2016, to the effect that Mr. Yaw Donkor, former Director of the Bureau of National Investigations(BNI) was responsible for the seizure of a Toyota Camry (2011 Model) vehicle belonging to Nana Obiri Yeboah, a Tema-based Businessman.

The New Crusading Guide’s story under reference, indicated that a Tema-based Businessman, Nana Obiri Yeboah had sought the intervention of the Chief of Staff and the Presidency to "investigate the circumstances that led to the seizure of his Toyota Camry vehicle, somewhere in 2014 and kept by the Director of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), Mr. Yaw Donkor, without any concrete justification".

The story added that although Mr. Yeboah met "the BNI Boss, Yaw Donkor but all efforts to claim his car fell on deaf ears and no explanation was offered".

"The Director of BNI on one occasion detailed two of his men to accompany me to my house hoping that my car would be brought to me in my house. But that was not to be. I have visited the BNI Director more than twenty (20) times? and I have not seen any sign that the Director would release your petitioner’s car to me ", lamented Mr. Yeboah in his February 1, 2016 petition addressed to the Chief of Staff.

However, Colonel Nibo's press release (published in page 3) sharply contradicts Mr. Obiri Yeboah's claims to have met Mr. Yaw Donkor on several occasions in the matter without resolution.

"Yaw Donkor , who left the BNI in May, 2014 wishes it be known that he has never been involved in any investigation of Nana Obiri Yeboah and has never met him in his life", ?emphasized Colonel Nibo.

Further checks by The New Crusading GUIDE have shown that Mr. Yaw Donkor was not personally mentioned in the petition submitted to the Chief of Staff by Mr. Obiri Yeboah. The records also show that Mr. Donkor had had no involvement with the seizure of the vehicle in question and had indeed never interacted with the petitioner on the matter at stake.

Against that backdrop, the Editorial Board of The New Crusading GUIDE retracts the inaccurate portions of the story published last Monday and renders an unqualified apology to Mr. Yaw Donkor for any inconvenience the said story might have occasioned.

Meanwhile, The New Crusading GUIDE will endeavor to establish the facts surrounding the seizure and whereabouts of the vehicle of the petitioner and ensure that Justice and Fairness prevail.
