Navrongo rises to receive first time NPP female MP aspirant

The Navrongo township in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region was brought to a stand still as many thronged the streets to receive it’s first time female member of parliament aspirant.

Dressed in party paraphernalia of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP),the residents both delegates and non-delegates were seen hoisting photographs of the first female Upper East Regional Minister,Hon.Tangoba Abayage who has picked nominations form to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the NPP.

This sets the record of Hon.Tangoba being the first female Regional Minister and Member of Parliament aspirant contesting that seat since 1992 in the NPP Late John Setuni Achuliwor won the Navrongo Central seat for the NPP in 2000,after his demise, Hon.Kofi Adda took over in a by-election till 2008 and lost to Hon. Mark Woyongo In 2012 but recapture the seat in 2016.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the party’s office,Hon.Tangoba Abayage appealed to the party delegates to remain focused and resolute in selecting a leader that will champion unity towards the general elections and pledged to carry out her campaign without venomous utterances.

“Ensure that we are a very strong force, a strong home. All we need is to get together, all we need is to be united, all we need is love,all we need is patience, all we need is to look for the welfare of each other and I’m promising you that.Today, I stand here to make a solemn pledge that not I or any of my Team Members will use any foul language against anybody. I’ve told them, if a single person in my team should do that then that very day that person is out! We have a message and we are sticking to that message. It is that message that will send us to parliament on the 7th of December,2020”.She stated.

Hon. Tangoba however observed that the 2020 general elections will be based on ideas and capability hence, the NDC should be ready for a historic knockout.

“We are going to lead an issue based, manifesto based,policy based,pragmatic based and decisive message. We are going to turn the whole Navrongo Central Constituency upside down and we are going to meet the NDC boot for ‘charlewotte’. We shall button our chest and we will button our base and we will march in strength and unity and we will show that we are a very strong force, we are a strong home” She stressed.

Meanwhile,Hon.Tangoba is in the race for the NPP’s Parliamentary Aspirant with incumbent MP,Hon. Joseph Kofi Adda who is serving as the Minister for Aviation under the current administration.
