Even though the Convention People¹s Party has set date for the opening of nomination forms for its flag bearer contenders, Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum might rescind his decision to contest.

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, who was the 2008 flagbearer of the party, is the only person who has publicly declared his intention to contest for the presidential slot of the party, with a campaign launch early last month.

However, his aide, Kofi Siaw has revealed on the Xfm¹s big bite show Dr Ndoum will reconsider his decision.

According to him, ³the past 48 hour events concerning the CPP are very significant. It will form a critical part in decisions that Dr Ndoum will make as far as the CPP and the 2012 general elections are concerned².

³The reason why I am talking like this is because of the unwarranted, verbal vituperation that were spewed out by no less a person than the National Chairperson and leader of the CPP; running a former presidential candidate of a party she presides over down in the public domain like that; I think that you must take that development as very significant enough and that should inform any decision that you make as far as the future of your own political ambitions are concerned².

³The party has spoken; let us see if they will be able to implement what they have said. If they do, anybody who meets the requirements will put himself forward for election and that time, Dr Ndoum will decide².

Dr Ndoum¹s aide however added that it will be in the interest of the party¹s chairperson, Hon Samia Nkrumah to issue an unqualified apology to Dr Ndoum, because ³she had no basis to say what she said².

He said ³when she should be in a position to play neutral role, you don¹t single out one of the presidential aspirants; and deal with him in the manner that she did. We are calling on her to render an unqualified apology to Dr Ndoum because it was unwarranted. She has no basis to say what she said².

Nonetheless, Kofi Siaw said Dr Ndoum will remain a member of the CPP, saying, and ³he has demonstrated his commitment generally to uplifting the image of the CPP².
