Ghanaian artiste, Nero X, has released a campaign song for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in anticipation of the 2024 elections in Ghana.
The lyrics of the song encourage the public to support the former president, portraying him as the ideal leader for the nation.
Nero X highlights the challenges faced under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government as a reason to elect the NDC candidate to improve the lives of citizens.
In the song, Nero X praises Mahama as the country's savior during economic difficulties. Some of the Twi lyrics include: "In 2024, who is our choice? Mahama. Vote for Mahama. Everyone agrees that he is the right person. Who would reject the good? Some have caused hardships, so the NDC presents Mahama, the savior of Ghana. Let's support and elect him."
The song, titled "Mahama for 2024," was uploaded to Nero X's official YouTube channel on June 19, 2024.
As the elections approach, it is common for musicians to create songs in support of their preferred politicians, a tradition also followed by Diana Asamoah, Daddy Lumba, Philipa Baafi, and others.
