NEW JERSEY GHANA SDA CHURCH LAUNCHES NEW CD ALBUM
New Jersey Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1500 Maple Avenue, Hillside, New Jersey has released a new musical CD album to the glory of God. The 40 member strong church choir is under the leadership of Brothers Gabriel Ahimah Noah Owusu Ansah, Abraham Nkrumah, and Jehoshaphat Tetteh, whose unparallel commitment to the choir has brought motivation to all the members since the organization of the group about 8 years ago.
The musical CD which is entitled “Aseda Wura” has a composition of 10 brand new soul-stirring songs worth the price of the album. All the songs on this beautiful album were written by veteran musicians Sam Asare Bediako of Toronto and Pastor Newlove Annan of Brooklyn, New York. Some of the songs on this album include Nokwasem (Blessed Assurance), Eye Nyame (It is by His providence), Adamfo Papa (A good friend) Ogufo (The Sower) Odo Na Eye (Let us love), Siabotre (Be Patient) and others.
Helping the host church to launch this inspirational album were First Ghana SDA Church choir from the Bronx, Queens Ghana SDA Church choir from South Ozone Park, North Bronx Ghana SDA Church choir from North Bronx, New Jersey Ghana Methodist Choir and Connecticut Ghana SDA Church singing group. The singing groups came clad in their beautiful Ghanaian outfit to add grace and color to a night dedicated to singing praises to God. Additionally, there were many Ghanaian Adventists and non-Adventists church members from far and near who also came to give their support.
Unveiling the first copy of the CD, Brothers Samuel Buabeng and Abraham Nkrumah explained to the packed audience that the church choir decided to make the CD album so that “it will be a tool for witnessing that will bring comfort and solace to a soul that is in need of good music.” Besides that, the New Jersey Ghana SDA Church senior minister, Dr Amofah Anane Asamoah reiterated the dual purpose of the album as “to sing to the glory of God like the angels do continually in the presence of God and to use it to raise funds to help in the construction of the new church building which they have acquired for worship.” He therefore employed all believers looking for some soothing music to purchase copies for themselves and others so that many will enjoy the ministry of New Jersey Ghana SDA Church choir.
After hours of entertaining the audience with the songs contained in the album, the first copy sold for $6000.00. The second copy also sold for $1,500.00. Thereafter people showed their appreciation and enthusiasm for this CD and bought several copies that were sold to the public. The New Jersey Ghana SDA Church choir received a standing ovation and ululation when they sang the songs to the delight of the packed audience who gave them several rounds of applause. Comments such as these were expressed: “The best CD I have ever seen”, “None sing like this Choir”, “The songs lifted my spirits”, “I will buy dozens and give away to support the church building construction”
