New Machines for AGC

Fri, 12 May 1995 Source: --

An Irish-Australian mineral prospecting concern, Pontil Minirex Services has taken delivery of three drill machine units worth $1.6 million from Brisbane, Australia to prospect minerals in the country by the Ashanti Goldfields Company (AGC).

The 100 tonne equipment is capable of drilling 3000 metres of gold ore in all dimensions.

The machines which had to be air- freighted because of the urgent need for them are reported to have an advantage over conventional ones because they take less time to drill and are capable of providing accurate information on the position of the ore body and determine its grade.
