Kpando, May 22, GNA - The kingmakers, Bisiaku Royal Family and Chiefs of the Akpini Traditional Area have out-doored a new Paramount Chief, Okpekpewuokpe Dagadu VIII at a ceremony at Kpando. Togbe Dagadu, 60, known in private life as Captain Komla Dra Amedewonu (Retired), a businessman based in Accra, is a cousin to the late Togbega Bulla Dagadu VII. His parents are from the Bisiaku Royal stock and also the great grandson of Togbe Nyavor Dagadu II.

Togbe Dagadu was the immediate past President of the Bishop Hermann Senior High School (BHOBU) who distinguished himself in many endeavours. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the Palace last Wednesday, Togbe Dagadu bemoaned the chequered reign of his predecessor, which he said was fraught with litigation, mistrust, acrimony and disunity. He, therefore, appealed to his constituents to give peace a chance, which he said was a necessary recipe for development to thrive. Togbe Dagadu said the area was endowed with resources, which when harnessed could change the outlook of the area.

He pledged an open-door policy and ready to dialogue with all groups for the maintenance of peace for socio-economic development. Present at ceremony were Togbe Kungo-Ebudjah III, Mankrado and Chief of Gabi and Stool father (Zikpitor).
