A newborn baby boy has been rescued after being abandoned by his mother in a forest at Kososan in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region.
A report by Nyankonton mu Nsem revealed that the mother, after giving birth, hastily entered the forest, left the child, and returned home.
An eyewitness, who also rescued the baby, shared that she was on her farm with her daughter amidst a downpour when she heard the baby's cries. They quickly traced the sound to its source and, to their astonishment, found the baby alive.
She immediately notified the local chief and some residents, who assisted her in rescuing the baby. At the scene, a 'Ghana Must Go' bag containing clothes was discovered.
The baby was subsequently taken to the Ekwamasi Clinic for medical attention. An investigation is underway to locate the baby's mother.
