Kenyase (B/A) July 22 GNA - Newmont Ghana Ahafo Project has donated eight desktop computers and accessories worth 100 million cedis to Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Senior Secondary School in Kenyase in Brong Ahafo Region.

Presenting the items, Mr Dave Ingle, General Manager of the Project, pledged that the company, in accordance with its philosophy on good neighbourliness, would continue to offer further assistance to the institution in the future.

He said the Company's gesture was in response to a request the school made to it about three months ago and expressed the hope that it would help strengthen "our relationship as neighbours".

Mr Randy Barnes, External Affairs Manager, said the donation was one of the Company's investments in the education of children of the mining community.

"Newmont Ghana is looking forward to having a very successful partnership with all organizations within the local communities to continuously achieve positive development and investment", he said.

Sister Martha Davis, Headmistress, said the donation had helped the School "to join the computer age".

Present was Sister Mary Connaughton, Out-Going Headmistress of the School.
