The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has announced that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will focus on completing sports projects in the country.
He stated that any sports infrastructure initiated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will be successfully completed and used for its intended purpose.
The former Minister of Youth and Sports emphasised the importance of ensuring that these projects receive the necessary attention to enhance the country's sports sector.
"Any facility that government and taxpayers' money has been spent on will be completed and used for its intended purpose," he is quoted by ghanasoccernet.com.
In 2018, the Akufo-Addo-led government launched an initiative to construct 10 Multipurpose Youth and Sports Resource Centres nationwide.
These centres were planned for locations including Kaneshie, Nuwunu-Ho, Koforidua, Axim, Nyinahin, Dunkwa-On-Offin, Dormaa, Yendi, Navrongo, and Wa, with an expected completion timeline of nine months.
Despite significant investment, only two of these centres have been completed, with the government struggling to finish the remaining projects.
Vanderpuye assured the public that the NDC government will complete these projects if it wins the 2024 general elections.
