The out-going acting Consul General of the Ghana Mission in the New York, Sir Joseph Ngminebayihi has expressed his profound gratitude to the Executive and members of the Ghanaian Taxi Drivers Association - INC,USA for the honor done him when he was invited to say a big thank you to them and also to say good bye to them as his term of office has come to an end " i will be leaving to Ghana at the first week of December".
He was given a plaque at his office by some Executive's of the Association led by it's President Mr. Kwaku Duah- aka "Mr Workaholic" during the time of their annual dinner dance,last year.
Sir Ngminebayihi noted that he was also grateful to be among members of the association,at your General Elections at the Mapes and 178TH St. a suburb of Bronx - New York at a colorful ceremony.
He urged members to allow unity, respect and the fear of God to be their guiding principles. These he believed will make the association stand out as an object of emulation by other societies in and around the state of New York.
He further called on members to respect the laws of the United States while at the same time showing dedication, commitment, and patience to efforts to make the association unique. He tasked the association members to eschew negative activities that will tend to tear apart the good works that the association has done since its establishment.
The outgoing consul general admitted that the Taxi drivers association of New York is one of the biggest and best organized associations he has ever interacted with. He called on all to do everything possible to maintain this positive outlook or make it better.
Mr. Isaac Kwaku Duah retained his position as the President of the Association, whilst Messrs Kwabena Opoku - Vice President Kwame Obeng Penny- PRO, Kwaku Duah Jnr - Assistant Treasurer, Isaac Ampong - Financial Secretary, Micheal Larbi - Treasurer, Jeff Adjei - Welfare Officer also were elected unopposed. The President of the Association, Mr. Kwaku Duah thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and the other executive members. He promised to continue his open door policy; and make the welfare of members his number one priority.
He appealed to members to do away with ill accusation, back-biting, not to plant seed of disunity in the association, pay their dues in time, be punctual and regular at meetings and respect the rules and the regulations of the association.
