The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Joe Ghartey has assured that victims of the deadly accident would be given the best medical care. His conviction stems from personal observations and interactions he had with medical and surgical officers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

After visiting some of the accident victims and their relatives at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Joe Ghartey wrote on his Facebook page to express his satisfaction with the care and treatment they received.

He mentioned that his interactions with the Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Opoku Ware Amoah, and the head of the Reconstructive Plastic and Burns Center, Dr. Divine Kwame, along with other surgeons, were relieving.

“It was an honor and privilege to meet the CEO of Korle Bu, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, Dr. Divine Kwame, head of the Reconstructive Plastic and Burns Centre, and Dr. Ahensen of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre. This was during my visit to the victims of the recent fire incident at Ngyiresia in the Ketan Constituency on 21st May 2024. I was left with no doubt that the patients were in good hands. God bless and protect the doctors.”

Before leaving the facility, the Essikado-Ketan legislator donated an undisclosed amount to the mother of one of the victims, Daniella.

“With Daniella's mother at Korle Bu. I supported her with my ‘widow's mite’. She is in our prayers,” he captioned a picture he took with her.

He was accompanied by NPP parliamentary candidate in the Essikado-Ketan constituency, Charles Bissue and Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah.
