Kumasi, Oct 21, GNA - Mr Kwame Owusu, an independent
parliamentary candidate for Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, on Tuesday
appealed to the electorate in the constituency to vote massively for
him in the December election. He said this would help promote the socio-economic growth
of the constituency in view of the numerous programmes and
initiatives he had planned to embark on when given the mandate. Mr Owusu, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Town and
Country Plaza Limited, was addressing his supporters after filing his
nomination in Kumasi. The parliamentary candidate said he was the best candidate
capable of giving hope to the electorate through prudent educational
policies, infrastructure development, vocational and technical
training, provision of social amenities and welfare scheme for the
aged. Mr Owusu said he would institute a fund to give scholarship to
brilliant but needy students in the area and that a similar fund would
also be set up for school dropouts with the aim of giving them
incentive packages to start their own businesses after undertaking
vocational and technical courses. He urged the electorate to vote massively for Nana Addo
Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the NPP presidential candidate, saying "as for
the parliamentary, the constituents should vote for me and nobody
else".
