A delegation from the Nigerian High Commission has arrived in Kumasi following the Nigerian prostitution syndicate uncovered by Ultimate FM.
Ultimate News investigations uncovered a Ghanaian-Nigerian syndicate that lures girls from Nigeria into prostitution under the pretext of securing them jobs in Ghana.
They are threatened, oppressed and forced to offer sex for money. Money goes to overlords whom they call madams. The girls end up in brothels in Asafo BB, a suburb of Kumasi.
The two-member delegation are in the metropolis to assess the situation and with the help of the police, rescue the girls from the various brothels and processed them for possible repatriation.
They are currently at the headquarters of the Ashanti regional police command holding a meeting with the Police Commander DCOP Kenneth Yeboah and other police officers.
The Police have confirmed arresting three persons in connection with the sex trade and are yet to be charged.
The suspects Blessing Orji, Vivian Nkechi and Blessing Nyozi have been detained at the Asokwa police cell over human trafficking and obstructing justice during arrest.
However, Ultimate FM investigation can confirm that three other girls are also been held at the Ridge police station in connection with sex trade.
