The Ghana Police Service has arrested a Nigerian national, identified as Esther Obasi after viral videos emerged showing her in a police uniform.
In a statement issued on Friday, April 10, 2026, it said the arrest was
carried out by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team following investigations into the widely circulated footage.

The police said the suspect was captured in the viral videos dressed in official police camouflage as well as a standard black police uniform.
According to the police,"preliminary investigations established a link between the suspect and a police officer, who was invited to assist with investigations and subsequently produced her.
"The officer stated that he had given the uniform to the suspect to wash for him".
The police said the suspect is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
