Ninani Group awards two KNUST students

Two students from the 2016 graduating class of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Belinda Ofori and Efua Amissah-Quansah, have received awards from the Ninani Group of Companies.

The D.A Twum Jnr Award scheme, instituted by the Ninani Group of Companies, is aimed at presenting excelling students with real-life experience of working in the Integrated Marketing Communication industry.

The Ninani Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), to award cash prizes and a one-year internship to two overall best students in the Communication Design Department.

“We believe the best way to maintain our lead in the Integrated Marketing Communications space is by grooming young talents and helping them develop their creativity through this scholarship scheme,” said Clarence Amoatey, General Manager of Touchpoint Magna Carta – a member company of the Ninani Group.

Belinda Ofori received $500 while Efua Amissah-Quansah $300 for being first and second best Communication Design Students, respectively.

The initial agreement with the University will last three years, after which it will be evaluated and extended to other departments, and with time to other Universities.

Dr. Edward Appiah, Head of the Department of Communications Designs at the University, lauded the initiative as timely and very well placed. He is excited that this scheme will allow the benefiting students the unique and rare opportunity to use their acquired knowledge in their field of interest.
