Nine educational institution to receive computers

Accra, July 18, GNA - Twenty recycle computers were on Thursday delivered to nine educational institutions in Accra and Kumasi. The computers, which cost 20,000 dollars were donated by Bernard College, an educational institution in New York to be distributed to the schools.

The schools included four Senior Secondary Schools in Kumasi, which received 12 computers, two JSS institutions in Accra, which received two computers and all the remaining went to three orphanages in Accra. At a short ceremony, which took place at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Mr. Kwadua Vanderpuye, through whose initiative the computers were delivered and who presented them, said the donation was to enable schools in Ghana to enhance their work and also complement the efforts of the government.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Mr Samuel Enim Obiri of the Ministry of Education expressed his appreciation for the gesture and assured the donors that the computers would help students and pupils of the institutions in their learning.
