Al-Hajj Sa Rhack Nartey, the District Chief Executive for Ningo-Prampram, says Ningo is benefitting more than any of the 72 communities in the District.

He told the GNA in an interview that it was not true Ningo had been neglected and all projects were being shifted to Prampram.

Al-Haj Nartey mentioned some of the projects that had been undertaken by the Assembly as the 12-kilometre feeder road through Ningo to Tsopoli, a 14-unit classroom block at Ningo Senior High School, 10-seater water-closet place of convenience, a CHPS Compound among others.

Al-Hajj Nartey said of all the benefits that the people of Ningo were enjoying they had refused to pay revenue to the Assembly and described the situation as very sad.

Nene Kanor Atiapa III, Acting President of Great Ningo Traditional Council, said they still stood by their call on the government to give Ningo a district status for them to manage their own resources.

He said the people of Ningo declared their position not to be part of Ningo-Prampram District Assembly since it was carved from the Dangme West District two years ago and they had submitted their petition to the government.

He said Great Ningo has long been in existence before Prampram and that they cannot serve under them through the District Assembly, hence the call on the government to consider their appeal for a district.
