Nkawkaw, Sept 16, GNA - The Nkawkaw Magistrate Court had placed an injunction on the Nkawkaw Constituency NDC delegates' congress scheduled to have taken place at Nkawkaw on September 14. The delegates' conference has therefore been postponed to September 28 to allow time to thrash out issues.

Mr Ebenezer Nyarkoh, Nkawkaw-Akuadjoo branch chairman of the party, placed the injunction to prevent the constituency chairman, Mr Douglas Yamoah Ponkoh and other executives from organizing the delegates' conference to elect new executive members.

In his statement of claim Mr Nyarkoh said according to Article 13 E of the NDC constitution, branch elections should be held before the constituency delegates' conference and this had not been fulfilled. He said the constituency executives also prevented him from getting access to a nomination form to enable him to contest the Propaganda Secretary position in the constituency.

All the 98 delegates in the constituency assembled at Bethrams Hotel for the conference on the September 14 but it did not come on due to the injunction.

Mr Tawiah Boateng, the Eastern Regional Organizer of the party, told the delegates not to allow the injunction order to divide their ranks. ''You should co-operate with the executives and turn out in your numbers on the re-scheduled date to elect a new executive to man the party in constituency.''
