The Government is to construct a 3.2 billion cedi three-storey girls' dormitory for the Nkoranza Secondary/Technical School to increase the intake of students for vocational and technical programmes.
Mr Emmanuel Kudzo Bansah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Consultant of the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited, who announced this at Nkoranza at the handing over of the project contract document to Mr Joseph Owusu-Yeboah of Messrs Djeabour Enterprise Limited, a Techiman-based contractor said a housemistress's bungalow is to be attached to the 14 unit dormitory block. He urged the contractor to do a good job to befit the government's resources invested in the project.
Mr Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Nkoranza District Chief Executive commended the government for reinforcing the vocational and technical programme, as it would help the students to acquire vocational skills to enhance their living standards.
He urged the contractor to use good quality materials on the job, saying, "Contractors who produce good quality work will continue to win contract from the District Assembly."
Mr J.R. Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education said his outfit in conjunction with the District Assembly and the school's Parent-Teacher Association would pay regular visits to the project site to ensure the early completion of the project.
The headmaster, Mr Joseph Kwaku Adjei announced that technical equipment valued at millions of cedis had been installed in five large workshops in the school for the vocational and technical programme and gave the assurance that measures would be taken to ensure the maintenance of the buildings and the safety of the equipment.
