Nkoranza (B/A), June 21, GNA- Members of the Nkoranza Students Union have appealed to assembly members of the Nkoranza District to confirm Mr Appiah-Awuah, the President's nominee as District Chief Executive (DCE), to accelerated the development of the area.

Mr Kofi Gyan, president of the Union, on behalf of the association told Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the absence of a DCE had seriously affected the developmental of the area. He appealed to the members not to allow partisan politics to influence the confirmation of the nominee since he would be expected to serve all the people in district and not individuals or a groups, if approved as DCE.

Mr Gyan expressed concern about the attitude of some assemblies to reject nominees, saying the trend would affect development as it would not be possible for projects to be initiated in the affected districts. He urged the people of Nkoranza to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity.

Mr Gyan said: "Assembly members, unit committees and traditional authorities should co-operate and organise the people to undertake development projects to help improve their living standards".

Members of Nkoranza District Assembly would meet on Thursday, June 23, to consider the nomination of Mr Appiah-Awuah.
