Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 3, GNA - The Omanhene of Nkoranza, Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom V has cut the sod for the construction of a 2.5 billion cedis water project for Nkoranza.

The government and KFW, a German non-governmental organisation (NGO), are jointly financing it. Okatakyie Kudom commended the government and the foreign donors for the project, which, he said, would help solve the perennial water problem in the area.

He urged the youth to get actively involved in the execution of the project to ensure its early completion. Okatakyie pleaded with the contractor to do a good job so that it becomes a testimonial for the company.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Joshua Ankomah commended the people for paying the community's contribution of 129 million cedis to enable the project to start.

The people should offer the contractor and his workers the needed co-operation and assistance.

Mr Ankomah assured the workers of the district assembly's support to enable them to do a good job.

He announced that under the Promotion of the District Capital Projects II, the government and KFW would construct markets at Manso, Nkwabeng, Donkor Nkwanta and Dromankese.

Mr Mike Mattouk, a representative of the contractor, Kuottam Construction Works, limited, assured the people that the company would do a good job for them.
