Cellular pathologist and lifestyle consultant, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa
Renowned cellular pathologist and lifestyle consultant, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa, has called on members of the Convention People's Party (CPP) and Ghanaians who share in the ideologies of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to join forces with the governing NDC.
In a video shared on TikTok on March 6, 2025, Professor Akosa lamented about how politicians in the country have not made a significant impact after Ghana became a 4th republic.
He emphasised that members of the CPP should support the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for a transformative country.
Pro. Akosa further explained that since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) could not develop the country after eight years in power, Ghanaians should maintain them in opposition for a longer period.
"A lot of my contemporaries believe that we can come together... I contested 2007 but from 2007 to 2025 is 18 years and we have not made any jot on the political scene, so, for how long should this continue?
"Fortunately or unfortunately, Rawlings, who I believe created the divide by having overthrown Hilla Limann's government, being the convenor of the NDC, is no more and all the icons of the so-called Nkrumahist are no more. NDC today is the closest to a Nkrumahist tradition. Why don't we support it to succeed? We have had eight of the elephant in the room and by dint of hard work if it has been sent into its domain, why are we coy to assist this government to succeed?" he said.
Prof Agyeman Badu Akosa, however, noted that a country without intellectual might is visionless.
He added that he is not seeking a political appointment.
"I am not saying this because I want any position. I have survived from 2007 to now and I am doing quite well and I can continue to survive very well. But for any country that is not prepared to harvest its intellectual might, you are not going anywhere too soon," he added.
