The statement, which was made available to the Ghana News Agency, was signed by Mr B.K. Ameyaw, CPP Bong Ahafo Regional Chairman, and for Nana Kyeremeh, the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Regional Chairman. It said although Uncle Dan was gone, his life had given Ghanaians a lot of food for thought.

The statement advised all Nkrumaists to bury their differences and come together to form a formidable party to win power. It urged every Ghanaian to learn to be civil and not to see politics as a matter of life and death affair. "We should learn to promote the use of healthy debates within and between our various parties to create a positive image about politics", the statement said and expressed the hope that Mr Dan Lartey would be given a befitting state burial. 19 Jan. 10
