The parents of a 7-month old baby who died after a fire outbreak at Nmanduana in the Sissala East district of the Upper West Region are responding to treatment in the hospital.

Rahinatu Nurideen together with her two sons and her husband Nurideen Badong got burnt in a fire in their room caused by explosion of petrol sold by Badong.

They were rushed to the Tumu Hospital which serves as the only referral facility in the area

by officials of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the area following Ultimate news’ Upper West Regional Correspondent Musah Lansah’s report.

According to officials at the burns centre, the family is suffering from second degree burns

and that it would have been tragic if they had delayed in sending them to the hospital for treatment.

Musah Lansah reports that the Badong family live in a non-mobile-network-service area making it impossible to contact emergency care service centres after the fire outbreak.

‘The other children also survived the inferno,’ Lansah reports.
