THE ALLEGED case of assault filed against former Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Nana Akwasi Agyeman, by Miss Yaa Fosua, took a different twist yesterday, and it is likely to fizzle into thin air after all.

Last week, the complainant, Yaa Fosua, told Daily Guide that the case would be heard at a Kumasi Circuit Court yesterday, January 20.

But the case was never mentioned yesterday and Daily Guide learnt that there is no assault case pending against the former strong man of Kumasi.

The Kumasi police told Daily Guide that no such writ has been filed at any court at Kumasi as at yesterday against Nana Akwasi Agyeman.

A lawyer representing the former Mayor of Kumasi, Mr. Fred Frimpong, also confirmed to the paper that his client has not been summoned before the circuit court as alleged by Miss Yaa Fosua.

He intimated that the woman has been repeatedly accusing Akwasi Agyeman of assault, but his client is innocent.

When Daily Guide spoke to Nana Akwasi Agyeman last Friday, he noted that the woman, Yaa Fosua, has been harassing him for sometime now.

“If nothing at all, I served Kumasi for several years as its mayor, and, therefore, it is unfair for the woman to keep on harassing me in this way”.

He claimed that no such incident ever took place, and he is inclined to believe that there is something seriously wrong with the mental faculties of Miss Fosua for her to continuously bring up an issue which has no basis and merit.

Miss Fosua had accused Nana Akwasi Agyeman of beating her three years ago, when he was the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

She alleged that because of Nana Akwasi Agyeman’s political influence at the time, she could not report the case to the police for his arrest and prosecution.

Miss Fosua further alleged that as a result of the beatings on her, the three-month pregnancy that she was carrying got aborted and she was hospitalised for four months.

During the period of her hospitalisation, she incurred huge sums of debt and she is now indebted to relatives and friends. Posted
