....Urges Nkrumahist Parties To Unite The Leadership and Members of Nkrumahists political parties in the country have been urged to unite in order to wrestle power from the NPP government in the 2004 elections.

The leader of the GCPP, Mr Dan Lartey made the call at a press briefing on the state of the economy under 2 years of NPP administration. It was attended among others by Mr. Kwesi Pratt, Editor and Publisher of the ‘Weekly Insight’ and Mr Yaw Boateng – the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator of the National Reform Party.

According to Mr Dan Lartey, the two years of Kufour’s government has not yielded any positive change in the standard of living of the people. Rather, the economy has been characterized by high prices of goods and services and utility tarrifs, increase in rent and prices of petroleum products.

Mr Dan Lartey however believes that the country’s gloomy economic prospects could be reversed if a new government of Nkrumahists ideology is given the mandate to rule the country.

The Editor and Publisher of the Weekly Insight Mr Kwesi Pratt Junior, said entrenchment of democracy in a country cannot be possible in an environment of weak political parties hence the need for all the Nkrumahists parties to unite.
